This boom-bap analog drums kit is packed with over 300 original, handcrafted boom-bap one-shot drum samples for you to use in your music.
The drum sounds were recorded in a similar style that legendary hip-hop producers in the 90’s were recorded, such as J Dilla, Pete Rock & DJ Premier that gives it the warm smooth authentic boom-bap flavour.
I used a variety of gear to find a true ‘authentic’ boom bap sound. Combining drum samples from vinyl with Akai MPC 1000 drum machine and the analog processing from the Panasonic SV-3800 DAT machine.
You can hear right away the lovely warm sound of these drums. mimicking the same filtering, EQ & compression techniques used by the greats to bring the classic boom-bap sound to the table.

| Boom Bap | Boom bap is a style of production in hip-hop music. “boom bap” is an onomatopoeia for the drum sounds prominent, the kick, “boom,” and the snare, “bap”. It was historically the East Coast style of hip-hop and the original style as opposed to the modern southern trap style. It is usually recognized by an acoustic drum loop/break sampled from a vinyl record that is then chopped up using a sampler, such as the Akai MPC or the E-mu SP1200. |
